Happy December! For me, December really starts the holiday season and I can finally turn up the carols, decorate the house, and break out all of the holiday recipes! Unfortunately, December is also prime cold and flu season and I have been terribly sick this past week so I was delayed in posting this new recipe. I’m feeling better now and am so excited to share this one with you!

One of my favorite places to celebrate the holidays is the Magic Kingdom. In general, December is my favorite time to visit Disney World as I love all of the Christmas trees, the lights, and the holiday cheer. There’s something very special about spending time with your family at Disney World during the holiday season, and I’m so lucky to have been able to do that over the years. My very favorite part about visiting Disney in December is being able to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. There are so many special events and experiences during the party, but one of my favorite memories is just standing in the snow on Main Street while enjoying a warm snickerdoodle and cocoa from the treat station.

Over the years, there have been a lot of changes to the parties since I first started going. While there are still treat stations with cocoa,  they recently stopped serving the delicious snickerdoodle cookies and now serve Santa shaped sugar cookies instead. Luckily, you can still find the snickerdoodles around Disney World and Disneyland and now, you can even make them at home! Since this pairing is one of my holiday favorites and always gets me in the holiday spirit, I’m excited to share this recipe for the perfect Disney Parks snickerdoodles!

While they are great on their own or with milk, I definitely recommend serving the cookies with hot cocoa. At the parks, the cocoa is a Nestle hot cocoa made with hot water, and while I like it because I have a strong nostalgia for it, at home, I prefer a hot cocoa made with milk. For these photos, I topped the cocoa with cinnamon churro marshmallows. I loved how the marshmallows mirrored the cinnamon sugar on the cookies and when they melted into the coca, the flavor was delicious!

I hope these cookies bring a little Disney joy to your holiday season! Enjoy!
