Happy Friday! Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premieres today and I’m excited to share these Quantum Cupcakes! These chocolate cupcakes of varying sizes have colorful red marshmallow frosting and chocolate versions of Ant-Man’s ant friends!
One of the things I like most about Ant-Man is his ability to change sizes, and so I was inspired by that while making these cupcakes. These cupcakes can be made as regular size cupcakes or mini cupcakes, or a mix of both.

For these cupcakes, I used my favorite chocolate cupcake recipe, but you could also make them in another flavor.
To make the cupcakes, combine the sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder in a large bowl.
Add the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla extract and beat on medium speed until fully combined, about 2 minutes. Then, stir in boiling water. Don’t worry, the batter will be thin and runny!
For the regular sized cupcakes, I used some red foil cupcake liners to mirror Ant-man’s suit and some of my favorite parchment paper cupcake liners for the cupcakes with the ant friends. For the mini sized cupcakes, just spray the muffin pan with cooking spray. No liners are needed!
Pour batter into the muffin pans and bake at 350 F for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcake comes out clean. Cool cupcakes in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting by beating the butter until it’s light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. On low speed, beat in the marshmallow fluff until just combined, about 30 seconds. Gradually beat in the sugar and vanilla, and then beat on medium speed until fluffy. Mix in a few drops of red gel food coloring and then transfer the frosting to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip (Wilton 1M).
To decorate the cupcakes, pipe a large swirl of frosting onto the regular size cupcakes and a small dollop of frosting on the mini cupcakes.
To make the large ants, place three chocolate covered raisins on top of the regular sized cupcakes. Add six chocolate sprinkles, three to each side of the ant to make legs.
Sprinkle some chocolate sprinkles on the mini cupcakes to make mini ants.
Enjoy these Quantum Cupcakes and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania!
