Happy Tuesday! Easter is approaching and a very special bear is helping me get ready! Inspired by Pooh’s love of honey, Pooh’s Easter Hunny Pots are honey cake with honey cream cheese frosting, and chocolate eggs! Just make sure to eat them before Pooh does!
A couple weeks ago, I attended the release of new collectible blind box from Miniso. The series is an adorable collection of Pooh Bear figures in various animal costumes and I thought the bunny version was perfect for Easter. So, I revisited one of my first bakes, Pooh’s Honey Pots, and gave them an Easter Bunny twist!

To make the cakes, whisk together the flour, baking power, and salt. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, mixing until combined.
In a small bowl, stir together the milk, honey, vanilla, and lemon juice. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined. Beat in the milk mixture, and then add in the remaining half of the flour mixture. Beat until combined and then transfer to a greased cake pan.

To make these cake honey pot shaped, I used Wilton’s Wonder Mold. This recipe makes four honey pots. If you’d like more, you can just double it! Bake the cakes at 350 F for 20-25 mintues or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. While they cool, make the frosting!
For the frosting, start by beating together the butter, honey, and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and beat until combined. Take a couple spoonfuls of frosting and place it into a small bowl. Add a few drops of black gel food coloring and stir until fully incorporated. Add a few drops of green gel food coloring to the remaining frosting and stir until combined.

Transfer the black frosting to a tip-less piping bag and a the green frosting to a piping bag fitted with a grass tip (Wilton #233). Once the cakes are cool, use a serrated knife to trip the tops so they are a flat surface. Pipe “HUNNY” along the front side of the cake and pipe swirls of green grass onto the tops of the cakes. Add a few chocolate eggs on top of the grass. I used two sizes of Robin Eggs for this!

Enjoy Pooh’s Easter Honey Pots!
