Happy Friday! This week we’re celebrating Donald Duck’s 90th birthday! To celebrate this milestone birthday, I’m excited to share Donald’s Frozen Ducktail! This tropical frozen mocktail is a blend of pineapple juice, blue curacao syrup, cream of coconut, and lemon sorbet. With its blue color, coconut whipped cream, and red bow, it’s perfect for the birthday duck!

While this drink requires a couple special ingredients, it comes together very easily! The first special ingredient is blue curacao syrup, which gives the mocktail it’s pretty blue color. I found nonalcoholic blue curacao syrup on Amazon. If you want to make it a regular cocktail, you can also use regular blue curacao liqueur.

For the rest of the mocktail, you’ll need pineapple juice, cream of coconut, lemon sorbet (or lemon italian ice), ice, and whipped cream. I actually used a coconut whipping cream to keep the tropical flavor. Regular whipped cream would also be okay!

Other than that, you’ll need some red candy melts to make Donald’s bow. For the bow shape, I used a silicone ice cube mold I got in Disney World a few years ago. Since that’s not easily available, there are some great alternatives on Amazon.

For this ducktail, start by making the candy bows. Place the red candy melts into a disposable piping bag and heat in the microwave, massaging the bag every 30 seconds, until melted. Once melted, pipe the candy melts into the mold. Tap the mold on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles and then place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until hardened. Once the candy bows are ready, make the whipped cream by using a hand mixer to whip the coconut whipped cream. Transfer to a piping bag and set aside until you’re ready to assembly.

To make the drink itself, combine the ice, lemon sorbet, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and blue curacao syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth and then pour into a glass. Top with a swirl of whipped cream and a candy bow.
