Happy Birthday Donald! Today my #1 duck is celebrating his 86th birthday and I’m so excited to share these Donald Duck Butt Sundaes! These sundaes are super easy to make. They’re just ice cream, whipped cream, and duck feet shaped sugar cookies! Of course, you can also add your favorite ice cream toppings too!

I first saw sundaes similar to these in pictures from Tokyo Disneyland. I haven’t been to Tokyo Disney so I can’t say what they taste like, but I really liked the idea and decided to make a version of my own. For these sundaes, I used plain vanilla ice cream and white whipped cream as I wanted to color to match Donald’s feathers. You could also use another light colored ice cream like chocolate chip or white mint chip, or you could even just add the duck feet cookies to your favorite flavor.

To make the cookies, I started with my favorite sugar cookie recipe. They’re super easy to shape and taste great. To start, whisk the flour, salt, and sugar together in a small bowl. Set it aside, and beat the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined. Add the flour mixture and beat just until combined. Beat in a few drops of yellow food coloring. I used the yellow from this Wilton gel food coloring pack. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for an hour.

Once the dough has chilled, place it on a lightly floured surface and roll to 1/4-1/2 inch thickness. Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter. To make the duck feet shape, I used a small cutter that is part of a dinosaur set that I found on Amazon. I was very excited to find the set as I had been having a hard time finding the shape and size that I wanted and the cutter from this set was perfect!

Given the amount of cookie dough, I cut out 16 duck feet and then cut out the remaining dough as regular sized round sugar cookies.

Place the cut out cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and place back in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. This will help them keep their shape while baking. Bake cookies at 350 F for five minutes or until the edges are just starting to turn golden brown. Let cool for two minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Then, assemble your sundae! Place a large scoop of ice cream into a blue bowl, add a dollop of whipped cream to make Donald’s tail, any other toppings, and then two duck feet cookies towards the bottom of the scoop to make Donald’s feet!

Enjoy these super fun Donald Duck Butt Sundaes! Happy Birthday Donald!
