Happy Friday! On my recent trip to Disney World, I had a wonderful time visiting the AbracadaBar on Disney’s Boardwalk. This magician themed lounge serves a collection of magical drinks, including the color changing Magic Mirror! AbracadaBar’s Magic Mirror is a mix of lime juice, honey mango, rum, and soda. With a magician’s touch, it’s takes on a fun purple color!

I’ve stayed at the Boardwalk Inn a few times and it’s become one of my favorite resorts. I like having access to the shops, lounges, and entertainment on the Boardwalk, including AbracadaBar, a small, magician themed cocktail lounge. The story is that AbracadaBar was the hangout for famous magicians and illusionists until it mysteriously (and magically?) disappeared. But now that it’s back, it highlights the golden age of magic with enchanted posters, vintage props, and curious cocktails.

AbracadaBar's Magic Mirror (drink with lime juice, honey mango, rum, and soda) in a glass

One of my favorite cocktails is the Magic Mirror. It’s a combination of fresh lime juice, honey mango syrup, rum, Sprite, and club soda. One of the curious cocktails on the menu, it’s color becomes purple when mixed. When I got home, I knew I wanted to give it a try!

To make AbracadaBar’s Magic Mirror, start by combining the lime juice, honey mango syrup, and rum in a tall glass. For the syrup, I used Monin’s Honey Mango. It has a great flavor and is available online at their website. In the Parks, this drink is served in a regular glass so I used a 14 oz glass from Target. AbracadaBar uses Bacardi rum, but other rum will work, just make sure to use a white rum.

Next, add a handful of ice to the glass and top with the Sprite and club soda. For the final, color changing trick, place a dab of purple food coloring on the back of a spoon. Then, use the spoon to stir the drink and distribute the color. Serve with a garnish of lime.

Enjoy this magical drink!
