Happy Friday! With the warm temperatures, this week I’ve been dreaming of a cruise–a jungle cruise that is! I had such a fun time visiting Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland that I couldn’t help making my own tropical drinks at home. Just like the one at Disneyland, Trader Sam’s Skipper Sipper is a tropical mix of pineapple, orange, lime, and mint!

Inspired by The Jungle Cruise, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is a magical tiki bar located at the Disneyland Hotel. It has a lot of fun drinks and this non-alcoholic Skipper Sipper is the perfect way to cool off on a hot day!

To make Trader Sam’s Skipper Sipper, place the mint leaves, lime juice, agave, and Falernum in a glass. Falernum is common in tropical drinks and comes in two varieties, an alcoholic liqueur and a non-alcoholic syrup. Since the original Skipper Sipper is a non-alcoholic drink, I used the non-alcoholic syrup version. I found a bottle on Amazon, but it is possible to make your own syrup if you want to.

For a bit of fun, I used a tiki glass for this drink, but you can use any glass you’d like. I found that a 16 ounce glass works well. Use a cocktail muddler to muddle the mint leaves in the glass. Add the pineapple-orange juice and ice. Top with club soda and garnish with a couple extra mint leaves.

Ingredients

Skipper Sipper

  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • ½ ounce agave
  • ½ ounce Falernum (non-alcoholic syrup)
  • 6 ounces pineapple-orange juice
  • 2 ounces club soda
  • ice cubes
  • mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Skipper Sipper

  1. Place the mint leaves, lime juice, agave, and falernum in a glass. Use the cocktail muddler to muddle the mint leaves.
  2. Add the pineapple-orange juice and ice. Top with club soda.
  3. Garnish with a couple extra mint leaves.
