Happy Friday! Today is Fantasmic’s 30th anniversary! Fantasmic is one my favorite nighttime shows. I love seeing Sorcerer Mickey and all of the other characters that appear in Mickey’s dreams. To celebrate the anniversary, I’m so excited to share these Sorcerer Mickey Milkshakes! Just like the ones from Schmoozies in Disneyland, these thick and creamy cookies and cream milkshakes have a blue whipped cream hat and Oreo Mickey ears!

Milkshakes are super quick and easy to make at home and this one is no exception. All you need is vanilla ice cream, Oreos, milk, heavy cream, and some sprinkles!

There are a few different components to these milkshakes. The most complicated part is the cup decorations so I’d recommend starting with those. Once the milkshakes are ready, you can then just pour them into the cups, add the finishing touches, and enjoy!

For the cups, I used clear plastic cups with smooth sides. The smooth sides make it easier for the frosting and sprinkles to adhere properly. First, spread a thin layer of white frosting along the outside of the cup. For this, I just used some store-bought vanilla frosting. The layer of frosting should cover about 1-2 inches of the cup from the top.

Once the frosting is on the cups, cover it with red sanding sugar. I did this over a piece of wax paper so that the extra sugar was captured and could be reused. Next, you’ll want to add a thin layer of frosting to the rim of the cup and sprinkle some yellow sprinkles along the rim. Set the cups aside until the milkshakes are ready!

The whipped cream is blue to resemble Sorcerer Mickey’s hat and so I made my own whipped cream as it’s easier to dye. To make the whipped cream, place the heavy cream in a cold bowl and beat on high speed. When it reaches soft peaks, mix in a few drops of blue gel food coloring and continue beating until the cream holds stiff peaks and the color is fully incorporated. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and place in the refrigerator until the milkshakes are ready.

To make the milkshakes, combine the vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, and milk in a blender, and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into the prepared cups and pipe a swirl of whipped cream on the top. Finally, add the Oreo ears to each side of the whipped cream and a few star sprinkles to the front of the whipped cream.
