Happy Friday! While it’s technically fall, this heatwave makes it feel more like summer. So I’m gradually easing into Spooky Season with this Poisoned Apple Cider Slushy! Inspired by the Evil Queen’s poisoned apple, this Poisoned Apple Cider Slushy will give you all the fall flavors in refreshing slushy! This simple slushy is made with apple cider, ice, and a touch of cinnamon. Just one taste and all your dreams will come true…
Fall is one of my favorite seasons because I love apple cider. A warm mug of cider with some apple cider donuts is my favorite all treat. When the apple cider started appearing on my grocery store shelves, I was so excited to have some, but it’s been so hot that I needed something more refreshing. And so, I decided to make a slushy. Snow White was my favorite princess growing up and as Disney is already celebrating Spooky Season, I immediately thought about the Evil Queen’s poisoned apple. While this Poisoned Apple Cider Slushy isn’t actually poisoned, it’s a fun way to get into the mood!
To make this slushy, you’ll just need a blender, apple cider, ice, and ground cinnamon. I used some local apple cider from Red Jacket Orchards, but you can use any brand. A spiced apple cider would also taste great, you might just want to reduce the cinnamon to taste.
Combine the apple cider and ice in the blender and blend until smooth. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon into the blender and pulse to combine. Taste and adjust the cinnamon as needed. Depending on the kind of apple cider you use and how much you like apple cinnamon, you might want to add more. If you don’t like apple cinnamon, you can also omit the spice.
Serve in a glass or spooky mug. I used a poisoned apple mug I found at ShopDisney a couple years ago, but it (and variations of it) pop up on different sites online pretty frequently. Enjoy!
