Happy Saturday! I’m so excited to share that I’m one of the winners of the Select Brands Bake Your Mark Competition! To celebrate, I got out my favorite kitchen appliance to make Mickey’s Chick’n Waffle Sandwiches! Made with the best Mickey waffle maker from Select Brands, these sandwiches have Mickey shaped Chick’n nuggets and maple syrup!
Chicken and waffles were somewhat new to me, but over the past few years I’ve really come to enjoy them. I really like the combination of a fried chicken tender and a sweet fluffy waffle. So when I saw Mickey shaped chick’n nuggets at the grocery store, I knew I wanted to pair them with my favorite mini Mickey waffles!
For this recipe, you’ll need Mickey shaped nuggets, waffle mix, a Mickey waffle maker, and maple syrup. It’s important to note that I used the Mickey Mouse Chick’n Nuggets from Morning Star Farms. These nuggets are vegan nuggets (not real chicken). As someone who eats a lot of chicken (and chicken nuggets), I didn’t notice a huge difference in the texture or flavor of these vegan nuggets. I would definitely eat them again! However, if you don’t like the texture or flavor, you could always swap in some regular chicken nuggets.
To start, cook your chick’n nuggets. I cooked mine in the oven, just placing them on a baking sheet for about 12 minutes. If you have an airfryer, that would be even faster! While the nuggets are cooking, prepare your waffle batter and preheat your waffle maker.
For these waffles, I used a premade waffle mix: Golden Malted Waffle Mix. This mix is very easy to make, just add melted butter, egg, and water. I like this mix because it has a great flavor and is also the same mix that is used in the Disney Parks.
Cook your waffles according to your waffle maker’s instructions. I used the Mickey Mouse Double Flip Waffle Maker from Select Brands. This is my favorite waffle maker as the waffles are always cooked perfectly. I also love the mini size of the waffles and that they’re the exact shape and design of the ones in the Disney Parks.
To assemble the waffle sandwiches, take one waffle and place two nuggets on top of it. Drizzle the nuggets with maple syrup and top with a second waffle.

Mickey’s Chick’n Waffle Sandwiches

Ingredients
Mickey Waffles
- 1 cup Golden Malted Waffle Mix
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Mickey Chick’n Nuggets
- 1 package Morning Star Farms Mickey Mouse Chick’n Nuggets
Garnish
- Maple syrup

Instructions
Mickey Chick’n Waffle Sandwiches

Cook Mickey Chick’n nuggets according to package.

In a medium bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together the water and egg. Add the waffle mix and whisk until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.

Prepare the waffles according to your waffle maker’s instructions.

Place two nuggets on top of one waffle. Drizzle with maple syrup. Place a second waffle over the two nuggets to make a sandwich.

Repeat with remaining waffles and nuggets.
