Happy Friday! This is my birthday week and since I’m turning 33, I turned to Club 33 for some inspiration! As part of their holiday menu, Club 33 offered a special dessert and so I’m excited to share this Club 33 Hot Chocolate Affogato served with chocolate chip cookie sticks! The pairing of rich hot chocolate with peppermint ice cream is perfect with a warm chocolate chip cookie.
Like most people, I haven’t had the opportunity to eat at Club 33 in Disneyland as it’s a private club with a very expensive membership fee. But I scoured Disney’s cookbooks and websites, and read some interviews with people who have eaten there, to create this week’s treat!

This week’s treat is very straightforward to make! You’ll just need your favorite hot cocoa mix, peppermint (or mint chip) ice cream, and your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe! I like a deep, rich hot chocolate mix, so I usually use Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa Dark Chocolate. At the Parks, they used to use Nestle Rich Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix (also delicious) but now use Joffrey Coffee’s Mickey and Minnie Apres Ski Hot Cocoa.
To make the affogato, just prepare your hot chocolate according to the package directions. I made my hot chocolate in my favorite milk frother. I love how easy it is to combine the milk and cocoa mix and the lovely foam topping that results!
Once you have your hot chocolate ready, pour it into a mug. I used an old Club 33 mug that I found online, but any mug will do! Next, add a scoop of ice cream. Club 33 used a peppermint ice cream for their affogato so I also used peppermint. However, you could also use vanilla or another flavor if you don’t like mint. For my ice cream, I used McConnell’s Peppermint Stick ice cream, which has peppermint flavor, peppermint candies, and vanilla. It was the perfect addition for a rich chocolate mint cocoa!

If desired, serve with chocolate chip cookies! I make a batch of my favorite chocolate chip cookies. But instead of making cookies, I baked them in a square metal pan for 30-35 minutes. Once cooled, I cut them into sticks to match how Club 33 served them.

Inspired by the one at Club 33, this rich hot chocolate is paired with peppermint ice cream for a refreshingly decadent treat!
Ingredients
- 1 package hot chocolate mix
- 8 oz milk
- 1 scoop peppermint ice cream
- chocolate chip cookies, for serving, optional
Instructions

Prepare the hot chocolate according to the package instructions. Pour into a mug.
