Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line muffin pan with cupcake liners (half green, half pink).

In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add in the egg, egg white, and vanilla; beat until blended.

On low speed, gradually beat in the flour mixture, one third at a time, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour.

Divide the batter among the liners and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the cupcakes for 10 minutes in the pan. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
